FISD Runners Make Strong Showing at Cross Country Region Meet

Frisco ISD runners made another strong showing at the 5A Region 2 Cross Country Meet on Monday, with two teams finishing in the top three in the region and nine individuals finishing in the top 10 of the boys and girls races.

Reedy finished second in the boys team standings, led by three runners in the top 10: Luke Lawson, Garrick Spieler and Aiden Gonzalez-Rodiles. The top FISD boys individual finisher was Wakeland’s Natnael Enright, who finished second.

Wakeland finished third in the girls standings, led by a pair of runners in the top 10: Mackenzie Davis and Chloe Smith. The top FISD girls individual finisher was Reedy’s Colleen Stegmann, who was third.

The Reedy boys and the Wakeland girls teams qualified for the UIL State Meet, which will be Nov. 23 in Round Rock. The top 10 individuals from each of the region races, not including those who are part of qualifying teams, also qualified for the state meet.
