District Basketball Season Gets Rolling

FISD | 12/14/2020

In sports other than football, all Frisco ISD high schools play in the same district. That means each district will have 10 teams -- and in some cases, more -- and that means a lot of good teams battling for four playoff spots.

The girls basketball teams have now finished two weeks of District 9-5A play, while boys teams recently completed their first week of 9-5A play. (Some teams have played less than others due to rescheduled games).

In the girls standings, Centennial and Lone Star are tied for the lead with 4-0 records. In the boys standings, Wakeland and Frisco are tied for the lead with 2-0 records and Liberty won the only district game it has played.

Here are the District standings as of Dec. 14:

-- GIRLS --
Centennial ... 4-0
Lone Star ... 4-0
Liberty ... 3-1
Frisco ... 2-2
Independence ... 2-2
Memorial ... 2-2
Reedy ... 1-3
Wakeland ... 1-3
Heritage ... 1-3
Lebanon Trail ... 0-4

-- BOYS --
Wakeland ... 2-0
Frisco ... 2-0
Liberty ... 1-0
Centennial ... 1-1
Heritage ... 1-1
Memorial ... 0-0
Lebanon Trail ... 0-1
Lone Star ... 0-1
Reedy ... 0-1
