As usual, Frisco ISD will have a large contingent of student athletes competing at the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships.
This year, 41 FISD athletes have qualified for the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships, and including alternates, about 60 student athletes will be heading to San Antonio for state.
To maintain adequate social distancing, the boys and girls will compete on different days at the state meet, which will be held at the Bill Walker Pool and Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio. The 5A boys meet will be Saturday, Feb. 27 and the 5A girls meet will be Tuesday, March 2.
At the 3-5A Region Meet, FISD competitors combined to win 15 events and the Wakeland boys won the team championship. Wakeland was the 5A state runner-up the last two years.
